The Bundaberg & District Neighbourhood Centre is located in the Historical Kenalwyn House at 111 Targo Street, Bundaberg

We are funded by Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services to provide services and support to the community of Bundaberg.

The Centre is a well established community organisation incorporated in 1992 and is an information referral service with strong interagency connections within the community and offers a variety of community support programs.

We also have an extensive range of community support services information available.

Centre Programs

Bundaberg Migrant Settlement Services Program

Bundaberg Migrant Settlement Services (formerly Settlement Grants Program) operates from the Bundaberg Neighbourhood Centre offering a referral and advocacy service to eligible new migrants within the Bundaberg area, Gin Gin and Childers.

Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) Program

The CAMS multicultural community worker undertakes systemic and group advocacy and community capacity building activities for the benefit of people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Speech and Occupational Therapy Program

The Program aims to widen the educational options and increase participation in educational settings of primary and secondary school-aged children with moderate to severe disabilities. Eligible students are those attending Catholic and Independent schools in Bundaberg. The program provides Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy to the children, and support to their parents and teachers.

Bundaberg ASD Resources

The Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood Centre launched the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Bundaberg Community Services Directory in September 2016.  It has been recently updated (December 2017) - for an electronic copy, please click here
Headspace Bundaberg and CQU students have also put together the Connecting to Services ASD Resource - it can be found here

Adult Literacy and Numeracy Program

The programs tutors endeavor to help participants to learn and improve their Literacy, Language and Numeracy skills to a standard that will support them to seek employment and improve their community involvement.

No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)

This Program provides no-interest loans up to the value of $1,500.00 to low-income individuals and families, for the purchase of basic household items. Loans for items such as household appliances, furniture, education items or medical aids are considered for eligible clients. Conditions apply.
